Hosted Exchange eMail -- Mobile Devices

Mobile Devices, the Basics
Working with a 'Mobile Device', i.e. a Blackberry, or a Motorola Q, or others involves two steps:
  • Device Activation
... you sign up with a wireless service provider, i.e. at&t or Verizon. This does NOT involve CNG Internet. Any connection plan that lets you use your mobile device on the Internet will do
  • Device Synchronization
... this DOES involve CNG Internet, in that we need to 'synchronize' your device/account with our Exchange server(s).

The two-way synchronization that will start up after your account with CNG Internet is in place, ensures that you have always up-to-date information; on your mobile device, as well as in your mailbox on the Exchange server.
The synchronization will 'push' email from your mail-box on the Exchange server down to your mobile device. Likewise, as soon as you finish composing an eMail (or hit the 'Reply' button) on your mobile device the eMail will be 'up-loaded' to your Exchange mail-box, and sent out.

Just a Note: ... the synchronization we at CNG Internet provide goes also for your Contacts, Shared Calendars, and Tasks; again, improving business productivity

ActiveSync for WindowsMobile and Apple iPhone 3G
Microsoft established a new platform with Exchange 2007 / 2010 mail-servers. It is now truly possible to stay in touch "Anytime®", "Anywhere®" with ActiveSync and your CNG Internet hosted Exchange mailbox. ActiveSync works on many mobile devices, including Palm Treo, Nokia, PocketPC and Samsung BlackJack.
As an added benefit, Apple iPhone users can now synchronize between their iPhone 3G and their CNG Exchange eMail account. Is that great news, or what?
The ActiveSync enterprise level process delivers among many features the following:
  • Synchronizing your Inbox, Sent Items, Calendar, Contacts, Tasks & Notes
  • "Anytime®", "Anywhere®" access to your email folders, files, contacts and calendar via Microsoft Outlook or any browser
  • Support for HTML messages
  • Creating/responding to meeting requests
  • Setting Reminders
  • Viewing attachments
  • Viewing Excel, Word®, PowerPoint®, Adobe® PDF, and WordPerfect® documents

Good Messaging Server (GMS)
Two of the challenges with first-generation mobile device synchronization were security and multi-tasking. The 'Good Messaging Server (GMS)' implementation solved those two challanges. (BTW, this application was formerly called GoodLink Server)
GMS does all that ActiveSync does, and adds 'multi-tasking', as well as message encryption. Supported mobile devices include MANY, such as:
  • Cingular 8100 Series
  • Dell Axim X50
  • HP iPAQ 6315, hw6500
  • Motorola MPx220
  • Treo Devices 600, 650, 700
  • Samsung i700, SCH-i730
  • Sprint 6700, PPC-6601
  • T-Mobile Pocket PC Phone Edition
  • Verizon Audiovox XV6600
  • and many more
Features that are unique to GMS, aside from all other ActiveSync features, include:
  • Multi-Tasking, i.e.run several applications at once, just like on your Laptop
  • Access to your Global Address List (GAL)
  • Triple-DES and AES Encryption Security, device-to-server-to-device
